Naming Trees, 2003

This installation is a combination of projected video, video on a monitor and still photographic images. Seasons (winter) and fairy tales as well as my pregnancy were key components in creating this piece. The large projection is titled Rumpelstiltskin it is a performance ritual that I made in a winter park landscape dancing naked 7 months pregnant and acting out the role of Rumpelstiltskin from the fairy tale. I was interested in the relationships between the pregnant body and winter landscape, both are dormant on the surface but contain enormous energy below the surface of the earth and skin.
